Healthy churches recognize the need to effectively make guests feel welcomed as they arrive for Worship services and special events. The church greeters and ushers are the first person people encounter when visiting a church. They are the face of the ministry and the first impression. The Greeter or Usher has the important role of helping to set the tone for attendees to have a pleasant attitude, and a mind of worship before and upon entering the sanctuary. Their job is to greet with a pleasant smile, and extended hand to shake to the member or visitor that has come through the door. They may also give a hug if appropriate and when needed to encourage someone in need of it. The Greeter is the extended hand of the Usher's Board and are a great help for duties the Usher will not be able to perform. The Greeter is another effective way of soul winning for Christ.
